Well I’ve just decided that i will ride the Tasmania Christmas Track Carnivals at the end of the month. I made my mind up when i was out training because honestly i don’t fell all that bad! I’m not sure if I’ll do the bay crits, but I think that i should be right for the track.
All is going well though, weather is pretty hot, but I’m really getting excited to get back into it…slowly.
Au revoir
Just got back from my first ride in a couple of months and honestly i felt as though i hadn’t been off it at all! I guess that happens when you ride it non stop for the last 6 years!
Actually felt pretty strong, I’ve put on a bit of weight but it’s mainly from being in the gym, not fat! It’ll help this year as i want to put my focus towards sprinting.
It was pretty nasty going up the hills though, but i guess that will come as i start to do some more aerobic work.
Thanks for the comments before!

Phase 2…
Well it’s all behind me now; year 12, exams, being a junior rider. I’m now officially a senior rider and it is time for me to decide where i want to be and go in this sport.
It’s been a good 4 months since i was in full training, since then i have been on a forced break to focus all of my attention to year 12. It was a really tough desicion but i decided to do it and i am now 100% happy that i did it! It would have been a huge regret otherwise. Thanks to Gary for giving me some advice to stop, it really helped.
So now i am in the situation of looking towards the future. I know how hard it will be to get fit again, but i know that it is worth it. Today will be my first day on the bike for some time, but i’m excited.
This year i won’t have too many expectations, i’m a first year U23 rider so have many years to come. What i want to do is prove myself that i can be there with the top riders, and get a feel for it for the years to come. I still have the dream to be a sprinter, it really excites me and my current physique now suits this.
Well I’m off to train. Feels weird to say that after an extended period off. I’ll use this site to record all of my daily doings about my 2nd phase of my cycling career.
Ciao tutti,
Christos
Dear Christos,
from a parents perspective, it is interesting to see that all Riders struggle with choices…are they the right ones???…once you have made them, YOU have to believe in them…I am glad you have the maturity to see that there are many many paths which lead you to your “GOAL”..and your HSC was part of this pathway to your future prospects.
This is your pathway, and you have designed it, I will look forward to read your blogs on your progress through the U23 ranks…
Well done mate, and Best wishes in the future…Mrs “mickeys” Mum…!!!
hey champ, great to see u getting back into it! hope your exam results are all that u hoped for and will no doubt see u throughout the season, good luck!! … peta =)
Well i’ve been pretty lazy not writing on this site for a while, but I’ve got my last year of school on so i think thats a good excuse. In fact today I start the last week of school for me forever. Kinda freaky but also it feels good to nearly be over. I’ve just got a little more work to complete and then exams and it’s all over!
I’m getting excited to get back on the bike now though, I’ve been doing some gym work to help keep my strength up but i think it will take a while to get back into top form, maybe a few weeks. Hopefully it’ll all turn out well!
